My First Post - Let’s Talk About Football.

yesterday was the finals of the AFC ( Asean Football Championship ) where singapore faces thailand for the championship! this football thingie has been going on for 10 years already and its held every 2 years. thailand has won it 3 times while singapore has won it twice. the previous cup was won by singapore.

anyway… onto the match. at the 17th minute, singapore scored a goal from a very very messy situation. lol. almost everyone was in the penalty box but somehow a very talented singapore player managed to kick the ball into the net. that probably was the climax of the first half of the match.

the second half was the interesting one ( heh heh heh ) , at the 48th (or 49th) minute, thailand scored a goal although from my point of view it looked like an offside though.. around the 80th minute, singapore managed to get a penalty kick. but the thais didn’t seem too happy about it as the goal would probably mean a loss for them. so they protested! lol. i thought that was pretty funny.

the protest went on and on for about 10 minutes until the thais finally decided to play on and singapore managed to score the goal putting them at a 2-1 advantage. with minutes left to go before the final whistle, it was only a matter of time before singapore claimed victory for the first leg of the finals. the second leg will be played at bangkok on sunday.

at this point, i just wanted to mention one player from thailand that caught my attention. he’s number is 7 and he keeps diving! OMG. urgh. and i can’t believe that the referee keeps falling for his dives. but its okay. haha cos singapore beat em fair already. if singapore beats them again this sunday, they would become a 3-time defending champ. all the way singapore!
