The Major Autoresponder: Aweber
Lo and Behold, how did you find GetResponse? I hope it was a fruitful read for you. Today we have AWeber, so waste no time and let’s roll.
AWeber
The interface for AWeber uses the typical dropdown lists to navigate between lists, and clicking on links to move from feature to feature. Plus, very slooow loading times (each page takes forever to load (yes it is an exaggeration, but in times where you really need to get more things done, forever = “the real forever” as per Einstein). Comparing the interfaces of AWeber and GR, I must say that GR’s interface is more attractive, more organized and easier to navigate.
There are times I find myself wanting to make changes in AWeber, and I could not seem to locate the exact place… you know that feeling when you walk into a room knowing the thing you want is in there, but you just can’t seem to remember where the item is kept? Ya that’s because of poor filing. No doubt you will get better with memory, but anything that defeats the laws of nature don’t sit well with many, especially that you may forget where it “might have been” if you set up autoresponders far and few between.
Connecting “takes forever to load” (1st para) with “poor navigation” (2nd para), I end up in a lot of frustration trying to setup my autoresponder right.
Other than the interface and navigation, AWeber has fast delivery rates (there was only one time that I experienced a more-than-30-second email delivery). And the one upside I can think of for AWeber is that they make both the first name and email address of the subscriber required fields. (GR only makes the email address required).
It is important to have both fields required, because then, you will be able to address your subscriber by their name of their choice. In GR, if no name was input, the default is “Friend”. So you’ll go ‘Dear Friend’ for empty first name fields.
But well, in terms of value for money, I’ll go for GR. For $2 less every month, I’m looking at a slicker interface, faster loading pages, exactly the same for other features (geolocation, subscriber information, etc).
Did you choose AWeber? How did you find it? Rock on with your comments under this post.
We’ll look more at Email Aces next week. Have a great weekend. Cya Monday
