What Is This Looong Series of Icons?

The looong series of icons are at the bottom of each post, see? Clicking on each one will immediately add the post to your favorite list of bookmarks. Okay, let me clarify.

Let’s say you have a sketchbook or scrapbook, where you keep pieces of your life in one book. Yup, we have an internet version of this sketch/scrap book - they come in the following flavors:

Ok, so how do you get started?

Well, simply pick your favorite icon below, and click on it. You will be taken to another webpage, where you can signup for an ID and password. Once you’re done, this post will be added to your online “scrapbook” and it will be remembered for you in a long time to come, unless of course the service decides to shut down on you.

With your login ID and password, you will be able to access your list of personalized “pieces” on the web, and yes, it’s FREE. Each time you drop by a webpage or post that you want to add to the “scrapbook”, just click on your favorite icon if available, or any alternative method recommended by the service.

Why should I use this, since I have my personal bookmarks on the computer?

Because if your computer crashes or gets reformatted, you will still have your bookmarks intact with your online “scrapbook”. If that’s not all, you get to save on bookmarking space on your hard disk (save on computer processing time etc) - ok, that’s not a lot, but it could be part of the reason if you have an ancient computer.

Organizing your scrapbook

Organization is by this latest thing online, called “tags”. Like price tags, they add a label to the item of interest. You can add many tags to a webpage to label it, so that sometime later if you decide to go back to it, you’ll know what word/label to search for.

There are always recommended tags to go with the article, but you will always get to choose your own.
